Feeling a Bit Nostalgic

I have been cleaning up the never ending mess that is my office and in doing so I have some across a ton of memories. I found these old pencil boxes that have been with me since I was about 6 years old, and I am having a blast going through all the treasures inside.

I can’t believe that I have kept some of these things for as long as I have. Along with some old photos and trinkets, I found a little note that my Mom had put in my lunchbox one day. I think I was in grade 3 or 4, and it made me laugh. I thought it was so clever and I’ve kept it ever since.

Love-Note-from-MomDo you remember Steve Urkel?

I really had the best Mom growing up. Even though she worked part-time and then full-time, she always tried to create special moments for both my sister and I. She was always writing us little poems in our birthday cards, or notes from the Easter Bunny/Tooth Fairy/Santa. She was very creative and still is. I don’t have a daughter of my own, and my only compunction about it, is that I won’t pass on all these simple, amazing little things that my Mom did for me. But that’s okay, because instead, I’ll pass them onto you (and hopefully someday – maybe even to my grandchildren).

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Did your Mom or Dad ever leave a cute note in your lunchbox?

  1. That is so awesome that you still have all that stuff! I don’t really have anything from my childhood other than pictures!

Sometimes I leave little notes for Kira in her lunchbox or on her easel :)

    • I know, but I am a bit of a pack rat. I’m just lucky that my Mom never threw out all this old stuff and I have a basement to squirrel it all away in now.
      Kira is a lucky girl!
